High Innocence

The lights of life
not meant to dominate
darkness has its place

A thought is bright
until it meets with fate
where the gold is chased

The color white
faces a swift attack
from a soft embrace

A devil raised
just to lay him down
invites the oldest curse

The give and take
follows my heart around
was it ever pure

Jena on the Mountain

She blended in the wind
Tried to hide her eyes
Then I followed a trace
of something so alive
It burned right through me

She showed me just enough
followed even closer
Focusing my thoughts on
feelings so intense
I was starting to fly

A movement in the night
Where pleasure is fighting
climbing even higher
flashing like lightning
Sparks against the sky
It burned right through me

Universe

Somewhere in this universe
in the lights
the Greys are watching
A count of our mistakes
adds up like scars
across the human face

The respect for all
the wonders in our world
has been bought and sold
The letters are fading

Patience for a race
to worship nature first
or see the damage done
is growing old
Somewhere in this universe
judgment is waiting

Paris

Ragged zombies stand in line
tasting a simple soup
before a spoon is raised

Someone saving pennies
in their mind
is so defeated
too ashamed to pray

Watching a sudden show
of violence
blend into the background
Paris
looks so far away

Black Oil

If pollution continues
all natural colors
will turn black and white

New Outsiders

Welcome to Neverland
Kicked to the curb
Dance in the weeds
On dirty streets
a welcome mat
of broken dreamers

Crucified unclean
A concrete cross
The nails were cheap
In the open
do the bright eyes
burn the deepest
